ABOUT SIWC & ORGANIZER
SEOUL INTERNATIONAL WINE COMPETITION (SIWC)
Seoul International Wine Competition is the international wine competition which is held every November, beginning with the 1st competition in 2017. The competition is organized by Korea International Exhibition Co., Ltd.(KIECO), which is specialized in hosting of the wine & spirits exhibition and has grown with the Korean wine market.
The competition will adopt new criteria of evaluation and organize the panel of judges from various sectors to specifically focus on Korea wine market. It will accurately reflect the rapidly changing trend of wine consumption and consumer needs.
Overseas wineries which intend to enter the Korean market will have the chances to promote themselves, and Korean importers winning awards at the competition will win the effective marketing channel to boost sales. The results of the competition will also set a credible standard for value wines for consumers, contributing to sustainable growth and development of the Korean wine market.

JUDGES & JUDGING METHOD
To apply various opinions in wine evaluation, the panel of judges of SIWC will be consist of the best wine experts, including wine lovers who actually consume wine, and professionals form diverse sectors.
SIWC JUDGING METHOD
- All the wines entering the competition are rated under blind tasting conditions.
- SIWC wines are organized for tasting by country, region, grape, style etc.
- There can be a situation in which no wines win any medals if the judges make a decision that there is no wine good enough to be awarded medals.
- When it comes to imported wines, the suggested retail price is added to the category classification criteria.
(The price brackets : up to KRW 29,999 / KRW 30,000 to KRW 49,999 / KRW 50,000 to KRW 99,999 / more than KRW 100,000)
- TROPHY : The best wine in each category
(All Grand Gold medal winning wines within each category are retasted.)
- GRAND GOLD, GOLD, SILVER, BRONZE : Awarded according to the scoring cut lines
